As General Director, Bernard leads with a wealth of experience, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to driving positive change within the field of regenerative medicine.
Bernard's academic achievements include a distinguished medical degree from Leiden University and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. He has over twenty-five years of experience within the life sciences sector of which he spent a decade abroad, where he assumed various medical, marketing, sales, and managerial roles.
As General Director, Bernard is mainly responsible for strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and fostering innovation, aligning perfectly with his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation.
Why Bernard is passionate about our mission:
"It is all about the patient: it highly motivates me to work on bringing regenerative medicine solutions to patients that will cure the diseases they are suffering from. The idea that patients will be able to return to a more “normal” life is very inspiring. I realize very well that one needs to work together with many (international) partners to get to these solutions and make it possible: working together is the cornerstone of knowledge development and progress. The journey to get affordable and available solutions to the market does not go without building scaling capacity and a strong ecosystem. I am fully committed to helping construct these building blocks so that the dream comes true!"
In Bernards spare time, he enjoys playing spending time with the family, playing the piano and during the summer navigating sailing boats.
With over 25 years of senior management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly abroad, Erik made a deliberate transition to the cure and care market. Erik studied at Nyenrode Business University and obtained his MBA from the KU in Leuven, Belgium.
As director of business operations Erik is primarily responsible for the RegMed XB Pilot Factory. Erik possesses a grasp of long-term strategies and collaborates with others to achieve sustainable business objectives.
Furthermore, his commitment to shaping future business leaders is evident through his role as an examiner and supervisor for International Business at HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Armed with a Master's degree in Economics and Business Administration acquired from Maastricht University, along with extensive experience across various financial roles, Olaf significantly enhances the organization's capabilities as Funding and Finance Manager. Olaf has an eye for detail, an analytical mindset and robust strategic thinking abilities. His principal mandate revolves around ensuring a solid financial basis for achieving the consortium's objectives.
As a passionate project manager, Lena her primary objective is to unite diverse partners from academia and industry, fostering seamless collaboration and collective progress. In addition, she prioritizes the active involvement of patient experts in the RegMed XB Moonshot endeavors, ensuring their valuable perspectives shape our research and development processes holistically.
Lena holds a Research Master degree in Epidemiology and a Master’s degree in Health Policy, Innovation and Management and boasts extensive experience as a project manager. In her role, she is dedicated to aligning research objectives for regenerative medicine solutions with the successful execution of projects. Helping people to create a notion on the benefits of collaboration and possible positive effects on public health are core to her motivation.

Sophie-Charlotte holds the position of Legal Counsel/operations manager at RegMed XB. Sophie is primarily responsible for all legal matters within RegMed XB. She also is responsible for the organization of the Annual Conference of RegMed XB.
Sophie has a master's degree in law attained from Maastricht University; her motivation to harness her analytical and organizational skills for a purpose-driven and socially influential role prompted her to pursue a change in her career path. Therefore, she is proud to be a member of the RegMed XB team and contribute to improving the life of patients.

In Sophie's spare time, she enjoys running and good dinner and drinks with friends.
With 12 years of experience as a personal management assistant, Kelly became a valuable member of the RegMed XB team in May 2024. As an executive assistant, Kelly supports the Pilot Factory, Moonshots, and Business Developers with their projects, coordinating all appointments and ensuring smooth operations.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys kickboxing once a week and bartending at the local soccer club on Sundays. She also takes daily long walks with her dog, a Great Swiss Mountain Dog.

Collaborating with our partners allows us to make a significant impact on patients health. Crossing borders will amplify this impact even further. By working together and sharing ideas and solutions, we can achieve more and advance further.
With a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Schoevers degree in Office Management, Marian joined the RegMed XB team as an Executive Assistant in May 2024. In her role, she supports the Managing Director and his team by coordinating all appointments and ensuring smooth operations.
Outside of work, Marian enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in sports such as tennis.
